2 yrs

Okay, it's been forever since we set around a bunch of pictures. Kelly just pointed out that she turned one in our last blog entry, so here goes...

Here's Delaney at a wedding this Spring. We were at a beautiful farm in western MA and we even camped out after all.

Here's Delaney at the Cherry Festival in North East. Posing in her cherry dress, sitting with Grandma, playing the piano with cousin Kathleen, and at the Erie zoo with Papa Dale.

Here's Delaney with her cousins Michael and Ethan at Delaney (2 yrs) & Michael's (3 yrs) birthday party in August.

Here's Delaney hugging Ollie at her birthday party. And below Laney is ating cake with her friends Luke, Harrison, and Peter. No cracks about all of them being boys, I'm nervous enough about that already.

She got a mini vet kit for her birthday! Here she is practicing on baby puppy and her real puppy Ollie.

Playing at Wingaersheek beach on a beautiful September weekend!

Visiting Papa Dale in the fall. She went to the pumpkin patch with Abby and Paige.

Painting the freshly picked pumpkins with cousin Michael back in western MA.

A few weekends later we went back to western MA for little Ethan's birthday party and boy did it snow!! The power went out in the middle of dinner and it snowed about 10" on the weekend before Halloween, a crazy storm that delayed trick-or-treating for a week there.

Little cousin Ethan turned 1! No power for his party but he didn't care, his birthday cake from Naney B blinked just fine : ).

Reading time before bed... two books and into bed she goes!

Looking forward to seeing everyone for the Holidays. Take care!

It's Still Snowing!!!

Delaney has been helping more and more lately... she helped her mom make some Christmas cookies...

She's been up to some trouble too! She's not potty trained yet, but we're making some progress, sorta...

Here she got her hand on some toilet paper when we weren't looking!

Posing for her Christmas picture. Miraculously Kelly had the idea to take her picture for our Christmas card, and Delaney was in a good mood; we got the dress on, pictures taken, and photos developed and mailed within 4 hours!

A few picture from Christmas... here's one of Delaney, Grandma, and her new cousin Sophia.

Delaney and her cousin Kathleen visiting at Grandma's house.

Delaney in her Christmas dress again...

Another one of Delaney and Kathleen, having a little snack together.

After Christmas and Grandma and Grandpa Whitmore's, we went Easthampton to visit with the Houle familly. Here's cousin Michael and Papa Barton at Lola and Papa Houle's house.

Nanny B is here holding baby Ethan while Delaney looks on! Guess what her new favorite word is? Baby!... baby, baby, baby, baby, baby... I think you get the point.

Here's Delaney on the beach, and that's not white sand. We've had a lot of snow here this winter... we haven't seen the grass since we came home from our Christmas trip.

A nice picture of mom and daughter!

Everyone was talking about how long her hair was getting, and they were right. Not that it was too long, but she had a bit of a mullet going on, so we cut a little bit off the back.

Well, Kelly cut about 1 millimeter off, and then I laughed at her, and then she went back and took off a little more.

TOUCHDOWN!!! We watched some football too. This is Delaney cheering on the Saints (like the shirt?). Too bad they lost.

Baby baby baby!!!....

Another one of her favorite words, Hat! Posing with her playbuddy Ollie.

She's also into dressing up, another hat! She is our Glosta girl!

And last, some sledding, taking advantage of a nice day sunny winter day.

Fall Update

Well, we haven't been too good about keeping up with the blog lately. Here's the news from the fall. Delaney had her 15 month appointment in November and she's up to 33 1/4" and 25 lbs. Still well off the charts for height (most people think she's 2 already with her long hair and running around like crazy!). She is doing great though and happy as can be.

She is saying quite a few words now, even a short "sentence" ("more-dat!"), and can really follow directions and respond to questions. It's fun to see her reactions and how she figures out how to express what to she wants or needs. She has figured out how to put on her own hat and to unzip and take off her pajamas, also very good at climbing onto chairs and tables. She loves other kids and goes up to them in stores or wherever and pats them on the tummy or shoulder and says "hiii" with a big smile.

Here are some photos from the things we have been doing. In September, we had a fun time at Wine Fest with Kathleen and Grandma and Grandpa and celebrated our first birthdays.

In October we went pumpkin picking in Gloucester and on hikes in the woods with Ollie.
At the end of October we spent a bunch of time with Michael in Easthampton while Auntie Katie was in the hospital. Lola took them to a farm one day to see the animals and play with the toys and they went trick-or-treating together.

Right before Halloween, we got a new baby cousin Ethan Gabriel! He wasn't supposed to come until Christmas, so he is a little guy - born at 2 lbs. 15 ounces. He did a great job in the NICU and grew a lot and now is at home and up over 5 lbs. We are SOOOOO happy that Katie and Ethan are doing well now. He's a cutie and we can't wait to see him for Christmas.

In November we went to the Boston Children's museum with friends Luke, Natalie, and Jason. It was a great place and there were lots of things to explore and play with.

In early December, we got a Christmas tree and started looking for Santa. First, we saw him arrive in Rockport by lobsterboat!
(He's little but you can see him waving on the deck of the boat).

Then we found him at the local hardware store and even Ollie got to tell him what he wanted for Christmas!Later in the month, we had our first real family vacation!! We flew to New Orleans for a long weekend for Kelly's birthday. It was a blast and Delaney did an amazing job on the plane and all around the city. She was waving and saying "hiii" to everyone and lots of people played peek-a-boo with her. Her favorite part though, was playing in the pillows on the king-size bed.

We ate a lot of great food, heard some fun music, saw lots of Christmas trees, went to the zoo and some parks, and even got to meet up with some good friends that we had been missing.

Fun dinner at Jacques-Imo's with Ashley and Adam. Delaney had fun people watching (especially Adam!).

Lunch in the quarter with Rachel, Alex, and baby Sebastian who has a fun birthday 10-10-10!!

Happy holidays everyone, and we can't wait to see you for Christmas!
